What’s a P.I.V. unit and how does it help fight condensation?

P.I.V. stands for positive input ventilation. A piv unit is a mechanical ventilation unit which draws fresh air from outside and pumps it into your property through a unit which is mounted on either the ceiling or a wall mounted unit which sits on an external wall. These work hand in hand with trickle vents on windows as they move humid moisture laden air to the vents taking it outside rather than reaching a cold surface and turning to what you will see as mould on walls and ceilings. Condensation is the most common form of damp and can affect any type of property. We are all contributing to condensation through cooking, showering and even just breathing. So unless you want to stop cooking, showering or breathing you will have to play a part in condensation control within your property.

This is just one way to control condensation within your property, if your having issues with condensation or any other type of dampness then get in touch and we will offer assistance.
