NOTICING MOULD OR STAINING ?

If your stuck at home isolating you may have started to notice things around your home that you haven’t before. Black spots are signs of mould that are very common which appear as a result of high humidity levels and poor ventilation, ventilation doesn’t always mean you open the window! Letting cold air in isn’t the solution as cold air doesn’t hold as much moisture as warm air meaning any residual moisture laden air will find its dew point and go to a cold surface where it will turn to water and leave mould like spots or physical water on the face our your walls (usually an external facing wall). Proper ventilation is extractor fans in bathrooms and kitchens, it can be passive vents in bedrooms, positive ventilation units can be fitted.. these are some solutions to the issue. You may also see yellow staining, this can mean water penetration and must be traced to find the source.
