IS IT WORTH GETTING A SECOND OPINION?

We are due to start a job where another firm carried out a survey and report, after surveying the job ourselves at our own expense we quickly came to the conclusion that the original report had misdiagnosed the issues as rising damp rather than condensation. The report was a few months old, carried out in the winter and hadn’t factored in the possibility of it being more a condensation issue. We don’t believe the contractor set out to rip anyone off, from what we gathered there was an extensive survey carried out and the surveyor was thorough although mistakes do happen. Perhaps the surveyor was new to the position, maybe he was unsure and wanted to cover himself by going to the worst case scenario.

We surveyed ourselves and are putting in place condensation control measures that are a lot less disruptive and a lot less costly, saving the owner a few thousand pounds and the tenant doesnt have the upheaval of messy damp proofing work carried out in their home.

If yiu’ve had a survey and report carried out and would like a second opinion please get in touch via the enquiry form below.
